How can wholegrain breakfast cereals be creatively used in cooking recipes?

using a rolling pin, flatten the cereals, then crush then into a fine powder. You can use this is as batter for fish, chicken, vegetables, whatever you fancy.

shove it into yoghurt, with blueberries and strawberries

make your own flour! make artisan bread, the additional non-grain things can be cooked inside the bread, throw in tomato, olive, basil.

The good thing about cereals like oats/museli and grains is that you can make healthy desserts out of them...i love to toast them in the pan with sugar so they become caramelised and add blueberrys/strawberries or other fruit and a good dollop of low fat yogurt

Other thing is that these can be used to thicken soups...and as a topping for apple crumble for example and various savory dishes such as pasta bake, shepards pie gives it a nice crunchy top also making muffins is a nice healthy treat and snacks and above all it will be good for little kids! especially if you get them involved and decorate them. How can wholegrain breakfast cereals be creatively used in cooking recipes?
Great topping for any fruit compote or fruit dish.

Strawberry-rhubarb, apple, blueberry-raspberry, peach cobbler..all these are awesome when you use whole grain cereals as a crumble topping or mixed right into cookies and muffins!

One of my faves is when my wife makes strawberry-rhubarb compote and uses Quaker Harvest Crunch in the topping. {like a 'crumble'}
Add either oatmeal or crushed wholewheat cereals to a crumble mix for extra crunch.

If including oatmeal is allowed, I do use it to thicken sauce in a chicken and apricot dish I do and to make oatmeal biscuits.

Also crush weetabix with oatmeal to mix into a filling for roasted peppers and for coating small pieces of fish before dry frying (just rub the pan with olive oil). It cooks in second, tastes delicious and is crunchy.
How about oats as a topping? I use them mixed with butter or marg that has been melted add some brown sugar and sprinkle over fruit tinned or stewed i.e tinned peaches then cook until golden brown and bubbling slightly, serve with natural yogurt with some honey in it
if you had a yogurt desert or fromage fre you could sprinkle wholegrain cereals over the top for a topping, maybe wild berries as well.
Look no further!

I've found a really good website (below) that shows you how to make all sorts of wholegrain cereal recipes.

Enjoy.
Why would you? I think that fruits and beans are a much much better source of carbs. Avoiding refined carbs is best.
Just add melted Choclate
on top of yogurt or ice cream!!

i love cereals
