Does anyone know if Australian cup sizes (for recipes/cooking) are the same as Americas?

yes a cup is a cup, they do however use the metric system a lot so you may find ml. instead of tsp. too

Here is a chart.

1 militers = 1/5 teaspoon

5 ml = 1 teaspoon

15 ml = 1 tablespoon

30 ml = 1 fluid oz.

100 ml = 3.4 fluid oz.

240 ml = 1 cup

1 liter = 34 fluid oz.

1 liter = 4.2 cups

1 liter = 2.1 pints

1 liter = 1.06 quarts

1 liter = .26 gallon

American cooks use standard containers. The easiest way to deal with cup measurements is to take the amount by volume rather than weight.

1 cup US =240ml =8fl.oz. 1tbsp.US = 1/2 oz. = 15 gms.
