Why don't people on Cooking & Recipes seem to use the thumbs up or down?

I really do find input from other Yahoo Answerers valuable, especially since I'm somewhat of a new cook. I'd love to see more feedback from those who are more experienced cooks... is there a reason that people don't use the thumbs up/down here? Why don't people on Cooking %26amp; Recipes seem to use the thumbs up or down?
MOST recipes on YA are cut and pasted from another website. People feel uncomfortable rating them since the odds are we have never tried THAT particular recipe. I use the thumbs up/down on other food questions though~!Why don't people on Cooking %26amp; Recipes seem to use the thumbs up or down?
I think that because there are many different ways to do things, and many styles and many recipes, we really can only offer advice and we can't knock something if we haven't tried it. people cook differently, that doesn't mean that because someone would cook a steak different than I would that their way is bad(thumbs down) or that mine is bad, just different.
I think the thumbs up or down are for after you have all the answers and you cant decide which answer is the best, you vote and then the one with most votes wins.
